How we handle files

Most of our tools never receive your file. They run inside your browser, on your own machine, so there is nothing for us to store, sell, or lose. This page explains exactly which tools work that way, which do not, and what happens in each case.

We would rather you did not take this on trust. Every claim below can be checked in about a minute, and the last section tells you how.

Two kinds of tool

Every tool on this site carries a label on its card and at the top of its page. There are only two possible values, and the difference is not cosmetic.

The label is set per tool and shown before you upload anything, not buried in a policy page. If a tool does not say server, it does not touch a server.

What we never do

• We do not require an account. There is no sign-up, so there is no profile, no password of yours to leak, and no history tied to you.
• We do not sell, share or train on your files. Not the ones processed in your browser, which we could not access if we wanted to, and not the ones processed on a server.
• We do not watermark or cap output to push you toward a paid tier. There is no paid tier.
• We do not read the contents of your files for any purpose, including analytics, quality monitoring or debugging.

What we do collect

Being honest about this is the point of the page. Running a website generates some data even when it never touches your files.

Standard server logs

Our host records ordinary web request information — IP address, browser type, page requested, timestamp. This happens on every website you visit and is used to keep the site running and to investigate abuse. It contains no information about the contents of anything you converted.

Analytics

We use standard web analytics to see which tools people use and which pages are broken. It records page views and general location at country level. It receives no file data, no file names, and nothing you type into a tool.

Advertising

This site is free because it shows ads, served by Google AdSense. Google may set cookies to make the ads it shows more relevant, and you can control that at Google My Ad Center. Our advertising partner has no access to your files or to what any tool produced — the ad is on the page, not in the tool.

Things you deliberately send us

If you submit the tool request form, the bug report form, or the contact form, we receive what you typed and, if you provided it, your email address. Those messages are emailed to us and a copy is stored in the site’s database so nothing gets lost. We use them only to reply and to decide what to build next.

Cookies

We set no cookies of our own for tracking. Cookies on this site come from our advertising and analytics providers, and from WordPress itself if you happen to be logged in as an administrator. Our tools do not need cookies to function — a converter works identically with cookies fully blocked.

Why in-browser processing is better for you

The privacy argument is the obvious one, but it is not the only benefit.

• It is faster. There is no upload, no queue behind other people’s jobs, and no download of the result. A batch of forty images finishes at the speed of your machine.
• There is no size limit we impose. Because we are not paying for bandwidth or storage, the only ceiling is your own device’s memory.
• It keeps working offline. Once a tool page has loaded, an in-browser converter will usually keep running even if your connection drops.
• It is auditable. You do not have to believe us — you can watch the network traffic yourself.

If something here is wrong

If you find a tool whose label does not match its behaviour, that is a serious bug and we want to know immediately. Please report it with the tool name and what you observed. We will fix the tool or the label, whichever is wrong, and say so.
