Are my images uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely inside your browser. You can turn your wifi off once the page has loaded and convert anyway.
Does converting PNG to WebP keep transparency?
Yes. WebP supports an alpha channel, so transparent backgrounds survive the conversion intact.
How much smaller is WebP than PNG?
For logos and flat graphics, usually 25–50% smaller. For photographs that were saved as PNG the saving is far larger, often 60–90%, because PNG is a poor fit for photographic detail in the first place.
Is WebP lossless like PNG?
The default here is lossy, which is why the files get so much smaller. Set the quality to 100 for the closest match to the original if you need it.
Can I convert several PNGs at once?
