The detail
How this actually works.
HEIC is the format iPhones save photos in — smaller files, full quality — but it’s Apple’s format, so the moment a photo leaves the Apple world it can stop working: a Windows PC won’t preview it, an upload form rejects it, a print shop can’t read it. Converting to JPG solves all of that at once, because JPG opens and prints on essentially every device, app and service there is.
On the iPhone itself you can head off future photos: Settings → Camera → Formats → “Most Compatible” makes the camera save JPG from then on. But that does nothing for the hundreds of HEIC photos already in your library — and converting those one at a time through AirDrop or email is slow. This tool takes a whole batch at once, in the browser, on any device, with nothing to install.
Everything runs on your own machine — your photos are decoded and converted locally and never uploaded. There’s no watermark and no file-count cap, you pick the JPG quality (90 is the safe default), and each file shows its original and converted size. If you’d rather keep full quality for editing, HEIC to PNG is lossless; for the web, HEIC to WebP is smallest; and HEIC to PDF combines several photos into one document.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?
No. The conversion happens inside your browser and your photos are never sent anywhere. One caveat specific to HEIC: browsers can't decode Apple's format on their own, so a small decoder library downloads the first time you drop a file. Your image isn't part of that request.
Why won't my iPhone photos open on Windows or elsewhere?
iPhones save in HEIC, Apple's high-efficiency format. It's excellent quality at half the size, but support outside Apple devices is patchy, which is why converting to JPG is the quickest fix.
Should I convert HEIC to JPG, PNG or WebP?
JPG for sharing, emailing and printing — it opens everywhere. PNG if you need lossless quality for editing. WebP if it's going on a website and you want the smallest file.
Does converting to JPG lose quality?
JPG is lossy, so re-encoding discards a little data, but at 90 the difference is normally invisible at ordinary viewing size. Both file sizes are shown so you can judge the trade.
Can I convert several HEIC photos at once?
Yes, with no file-count limit. Download them individually or as a single ZIP.
How do I convert HEIC to JPG on my iPhone without an app?
