This policy explains what ToolsVale does and does not collect when you use this website and its tools. The short version: the tools run on your own device and do not upload your files, so the most sensitive thing you bring to this site never reaches us at all. The detail is below.
Your files stay on your device
Nearly every tool on ToolsVale runs entirely inside your browser. When you convert, compress or process a file, that work happens on your own device using your own processor and memory. Your file is never uploaded to a server, never stored by us, and never transmitted anywhere. There is no copy on our side to secure, sell, share or delete, because no copy is ever made.
You can verify this yourself: open any tool, wait for the page to finish loading, then disconnect from the internet and use it. It still works, because nothing was ever going to be sent. If a specific tool ever needs to process a file on a server rather than on your device, it states so clearly on its own page, above the controls, before you begin.
Information we do collect
Using the tools requires no account and no personal information. We do collect the following in limited, ordinary ways:
- Messages you send us. If you use a contact, tool-request or bug-report form, we receive what you type — such as your name, email address and message — so we can read and respond to it. We use this only to handle your request and do not sell it.
- Standard server logs. Like most websites, our hosting records basic technical information on each request, such as IP address, browser type and the page requested. This is used for security, diagnosing problems and understanding traffic in aggregate.
- Basic analytics. We may collect aggregated, non-identifying data about which pages and tools are used, to decide what to improve and build next. This does not include the contents of any file you process.
Cookies
ToolsVale does not require cookies to use the tools. Cookies may be set for essential site functionality, and, if analytics are enabled, to measure usage. We do not use advertising cookies or sell your browsing behaviour to advertisers. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the tools will continue to work.
Third-party services
A few standard services support the site. Our hosting provider processes requests and keeps server logs. If you leave a comment or your account uses an avatar, an anonymised, hashed version of your email may be sent to the Gravatar service to display a profile image. Any such providers process data only to provide their service to us, under their own privacy terms.
How long we keep information
Form submissions are kept only as long as needed to handle your request and for a reasonable period afterwards for reference, then removed. Server logs are retained for a limited period for security and troubleshooting. Because we do not collect your files, there is nothing of that kind to retain.
Your rights
You may ask what information we hold about you, request a correction, or ask us to delete it. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To make any such request, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Children
ToolsVale is a general-purpose utility site and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes or as required by law. When we do, we will revise the date at the top. Continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
