About Us
ToolsVale exists because free online tools kept wasting our time. Not by being free — by being subtly broken in ways you only discover after the download finishes.
A transparent logo comes back with a white box behind it. A batch converter turns out to do one file at a time unless you pay. A PDF builder puts every image on its own page with no way to change it. None of these are advertised; you find them at the end, after you have already spent the effort.
So we started writing the failures down. That list became the specification for this site.
What we actually do
We build free, browser-based tools for files, images, data and SEO. There are no accounts, no watermarks, no conversion caps and no paid tier — not as a launch promotion, but as the model. The site is funded by ads on the page rather than by holding features back.
The part that makes us different is what happens before a tool gets built. We do not pick tools by search volume. We pick them by complaint.

Support threads, review replies, bug trackers, forum posts. When the same frustration appears four times, that is a brief. A keyword with traffic but no frustration behind it does not get built. - We break the alternatives on purpose
Before writing code we push the same awkward file — the transparent PNG, the 40MB burst of iPhone photos, the sitemap with twelve thousand URLs — through the tools already ranking. Where the output breaks gets written down, and those notes become the specification. - We build it to run on your device
The default is in-browser processing: faster, private, and it survives a bad connection. A server is involved only where a format genuinely cannot be handled client-side, and that tool says so on its own card. - We publish the test, not the adjective
Anyone can call a tool “the best”. Every claim on this site comes with a way to check it in under a minute. If we cannot describe the test, the claim does not go on the page.
The thing we would most like you to distrust
We say most of our tools never receive your file. You should not take that on faith from a website you found five minutes ago. Open any tool, press F12, watch the Network tab, and run a conversion. Who is behind this
ToolsVale is built and maintained by a small independent team with a background in web development. We are not a venture-funded startup and we are not an agency — this is a project run by people who write the code, answer the bug reports, and use the tools themselves.
How this is paid for
Advertising, and nothing else. We do not sell data, we do not have a premium plan, and we do not take payment to rank a tool or mention a product. If we ever recommend something we did not build, it is because it tested better than ours — and we will say so plainly.
The tradeoff is honest: you see ads, you keep your files, and nothing about the output you download is degraded to sell you an upgrade.

The roadmap is set by what people ask for. Requests come in through the form on the homepage, get read weekly, and the most-asked one gets built first. Bug reports go straight to whoever wrote the tool in question.

Is ToolsVale really free?
Yes, entirely. There is no account, no trial, no premium tier and no conversion limit. The site is funded by advertising shown on the page, which is why we can leave every feature — including batch conversion and full-resolution output — switched on for everyone.
How do you decide which tools to build?
By complaint rather than by search volume. We look for the same frustration repeating across support threads and reviews, then test the tools already ranking to find exactly where they break. If we cannot name a specific thing existing options get wrong, we do not build it.
Why should I trust a free tool with my files?
You should not have to. Most of our tools never receive your file at all — they run inside your browser, which you can verify yourself by watching the Network tab in your browser's developer tools while converting. The few that need a server are labelled as such before you upload anything.
Do you make money from my data?
No. We do not sell or share data, and we have no dataset of user files — most files never reach us, and the ones that do are deleted within an hour. Revenue comes entirely from ads displayed on the page.
Can I request a tool?
Yes, and it is the main way the roadmap gets set. There is a request form on the homepage asking what format you have, what you need, and what usually goes wrong elsewhere. Requests are read weekly and the most-asked one gets built first.
How do I report something that is broken?
Use the bug report form on the homepage or at /report-a-bug/. Reports that name the tool, the file type, and what you expected versus what happened get fixed fastest, because they can usually be reproduced immediately.
