WebP to PNG

WebP is everywhere now — most sites serve images in it to save bandwidth — which is why so many images you save turn out to be .webp when you wanted a PNG. The problem shows up the moment you try to open one in an older editor, drop it into an app, or use it somewhere that only understands PNG. Converting fixes it: PNG opens in virtually anything, keeps transparency, and — because it’s lossless — preserves the image exactly.

Lossless is the point. Auto mode keeps every pixel, so the PNG is a pixel-perfect copy of the WebP — the right choice before editing or archiving. And unlike converters that quietly flatten transparency onto a white background, this keeps the alpha channel, so a logo or graphic stays transparent. The trade-off is size: a lossless PNG is usually two to five times larger than the WebP it came from, so each file shows its original and converted size and the increase is never a surprise.

Everything runs in your browser — your images are converted on your own device and never uploaded. You don’t need Photoshop, a desktop program or a phone app; drop the files, keep it lossless or reduce the colours for a smaller file, and download. If you don’t need perfect fidelity, manual mode shrinks flat graphics and screenshots noticeably.
