Enter your site URL to discover pages automatically, or paste a list of URLs. Everything after this happens in your browser.
Add lastmod, change frequency and priority if you want them; they're optional and Google largely ignores priority, so don't overthink it.
Download sitemap.xml (or a ZIP of split files for large sites), upload it to your site root, and submit it in Google Search Console.
We ran the same files through the popular alternatives first. These are the gaps we found, and what this tool does instead.
No page cap — it discovers your full URL set and, for sites over 50,000 URLs, splits into a sitemap index automatically, the way the spec requires.
test: generate for a large site and see the split filesDiscovery reads your public sitemap and pages; the XML is built and downloaded in your browser, with nothing stored.

test: paste a relative URL and watch the warningAn XML sitemap is a file that lists the pages you want search engines to know about, so they can crawl your site more completely — especially useful for large sites, brand-new sites, and pages that aren’t well linked internally. It doesn’t guarantee indexing, but it removes the excuse of “we didn’t find it,” which is why Google recommends one for most sites.
The catch with the popular free generators is the cap: the best-known one stops at 500 pages on the free tier and asks you to pay past that. This has no page limit — it discovers your full URL set, and for sites over 50,000 URLs (the per-file maximum) it splits them into multiple sitemaps referenced by a sitemap index, exactly as the spec requires. Discovery reads your public sitemap and pages; the XML is built and downloaded in your browser, with nothing stored on a server.
One honest thing worth saying: if your site runs on WordPress with Yoast or Rank Math, you already have an XML sitemap — those plugins generate and auto-update one at yoursite.com/sitemap.xml, and you don’t need this. This tool is for static sites, custom builds, non-WordPress platforms, or when you want a one-off sitemap you control by hand.
When you’re done, upload the file to your site root, reference it in robots.txt, and submit it in Google Search Console. lastmod is genuinely useful; Google ignores priority and changefreq, so don’t lose time on them. Working on the rest of your technical SEO? The llms.txt Generator builds the equivalent file for AI crawlers.
A file listing the pages you want search engines to know about, so they can crawl your site more completely. You upload it to your site root and submit it in Google Search Console.
The sitemap is built and downloaded in your browser. The one exception is the optional "Discover pages" step, which sends your site URL to a helper service to read your public sitemap. Prefer fully local? Paste your URLs instead.
A single sitemap allows up to 50,000 URLs and 50 MB. Over that, you need multiple sitemaps referenced by a sitemap index — which this builds for you automatically.
They're optional. lastmod is genuinely useful; Google ignores priority and changefreq, so leave them off unless a tool you use reads them.
Upload it to your site root (yoursite.com/sitemap.xml), reference it in robots.txt, and submit it in Google Search Console to prompt crawling.
Probably not. If you have Yoast or Rank Math installed, they already generate and automatically update your sitemap at /sitemap.xml. Use this tool for non-WordPress sites, static sites, or when you need a one-off sitemap you build by hand.
The most popular one limits its free tier to 500 URLs to push you toward a paid plan. This one has no page cap — it handles your full URL set and automatically splits large sites (over 50,000 URLs) into a sitemap index.
